as above, kuz im sure iv heard a few people saying it?
do you need dampers if you go lower than 50mm

#3exactly as above, i know loads of people with just 60mm springs and everything has been ok.
-
#4Am down 50mm on the standard dampers and it's been fine so far
-
#5Can be bumpy as the damper is compressed more. meaning the smaller bumps you hit will feel much larger than they are.
Going lower than 40mm, Blistein B8's could be a good purchase. All depending on how much you want to spend and what you use your car for.
You could get away with just springs if you don't drive your car hard. -
#6I would strongly recommend shorter and stiffer dampers for 50mm. Ideally you would want to uprate the rear bars as well but most people don't bother. Plenty of people have fail MOTs for having springs falling out for there pans. Bottoming a car out also tends to damage things. There are tones of threads about dead dampers, dead drive shafts and such like. It also tend to make the car quite unpredictable when the bottom out.
-
#7if u plan to lower it just for cosmetic reasons i wouldnt worry about it, but if you're gonna give it some stick i'd either go 40mm and get upper and lower strut braces or go 50+ with uprated dampers.

#8I have lowered my torsion bar 2 clicks does any 1 know if d2 dampers for an old 205 would be a gd set up ?
-
#9dont forget the implications with the powersteering components that get smashed to bits by the steering arms when you go very low.
its very much dependant what model you started with as obviously the sporty models are lower to start with! dropping a 1.1 50mm wont be a problem with standard dampers but a vts/rallye/gti at 50 will need to exercise a lot or care when doing it,
