#4Right cant make these fogs word, tried everything :\ Can anyone tell me or show me a wiring diagram to wire these fogs to my high beam please? So they come on when i flash people etc as i dont want them to be not working lol
Any links or help will be much appreciated
Thanks Tom -
#5I fitted some to my 1.1 the other day, they were fairly simple to have on just a switch I mounted in the cabin. I guess you could tap into the full beam (maybe either by the fuses or the connector, but I'd just go for a switch inside like I did
-
#6Yeah i could do, but i hate having loads of switches. Rather have them wired into something proper on the car. Think im just gonna try and wire it to the full beam
-
#7Anyone found or could make up some kind of wiring diagram to help with wiring the fogs to the full beam?
-
#8

Can anyone give me a run down on how to wire my fogs to the full beam, iv got a circuit tester to find the full beam, got connectors. Do i just need to wire the fog loom connecting the fogs to eachother to the full beam wire? -
#9Illegal. why do you want them to work?
-
#11Tbh mine do nothing lol, it will fail a MOT if they come on when you put full beam on.
-
#12Good point, but then would take 2 seconds to pull the wires apart then replace the connector. I seen it on a 106 quicksilver as they are wired like it standard. But they call them 'driving lights'Quote:Tbh mine do nothing lol, it will fail a MOT if they come on when you put full beam on.
Cheers for the advice though matey

#13Probably best to just wire them to a switch, just incase you do get pulled for having them on with main beam etc. You could hide the switch somewhere though if you dont like seeing switches everywhere?
-
#14Well they will be usefull in fog? Plus post above is right it is illegal to drive with them on without it being reduced viability can get a fine and points for it iirc.
-
#15They arnt gonna be wired to the main beam, so not gonna be on all the time on when i flash or put the full beam on in lanes for extra light.
-
#16Good point, just like the idea of them coming on when i flash haha Abit sad but i recon it looks good lol Already got a hidden switch for air horns lol
-
#17LOL airhorns, sounds wicked, are they like dixie horns or just mega loud air horn? I have a switch aswell for footwell neons, what a chav
In my defense, the previous owner fitted them lol
-
#18Pointless!!
They have one use and one use only..
Ready for it.........driving in fog only
Why do something that will draw attention to yourself from the filth
Also just pulling the wires out at mot time wont work either, if a car has lights on it it they must work or its a fail -
#19Haha yeah twin airhorns, just really really loud ones. The description for when i bought them was 'boat/truck air horns' was like il have themQuote:LOL airhorns, sounds wicked, are they like dixie horns or just mega loud air horn? I have a switch aswell for footwell neons, what a chav

Mine had footwell neons too lol ripped them staright out

#20True :\ so your saying that everyone with fogs for show is going to fail an mot? If it wasnt standard on the car surely they dont need to work for mot?Quote:Pointless!!

#21Yes, apparently if a car is displaying fog lights they must work as any other lights must work or expect a fail
-
#23Quote:Yes, apparently if a car is displaying fog lights they must work as any other lights must work or expect a failOk cheersQuote:You don't need front fog lights for an MOT, but if you have foglights, they must work.
was thinking though, quicksilvers have them standard to come on with the high beam. So if quicksilvers pass an mot with it like that then surely they cant fail mine?
-
#24Hmmmmmmmmm thats interesting maybe there is a loophole there then but still wouldnt want them on when not needed
-
#25They call them driving lights, but my full beam is pretty crap. Only people that are ever gonna see that they come on with the high beam are an MOT tester and people i ever flash. Only other time id use them is in dark roads when no one is around. As you wouldnt have your high beam on when someone is driving towards you anyway.Quote:Hmmmmmmmmm thats interesting maybe there is a loophole there then but still wouldnt want them on when not needed
Thanks for all your help though matey

#26Yeah on 106's they're driving lights on the higher spec models, and they're not meant to be used as foglights, just to be used as extra lighting on the road. And some lower specs have foglights, which have a seperate button to be used in worse weather conditions
-
#27YeahQuote:Yeah on 106's they're driving lights on the higher spec models, and they're not meant to be used as foglights, just to be used as extra lighting on the road. And some lower specs have foglights, which have a seperate button to be used in worse weather conditions

ahh be ok il give ago at wiring it later.

#28Why not have it connected to both circuits so it flashes with high beam nd works like normal fog lights. But also put a hidden switch in with the high beam circuit so if fuzz pull you over for having them on with full beam just press the switch to disconnect it from that circuit but is still useable with the proper fogs circuit. I'll get a diagram to show you what I mean when I get home from work later
-
#29Yeah as above ^ .
If your still struggling, i'll put a diagram together.
-
#30Sounds good, yeah if you could make a diagram would be great and im confused already about how to wire that hahaQuote:Why not have it connected to both circuits so it flashes with high beam nd works like normal fog lights. #31Basically mate, find the High beam wire, i think its the blue one, and obv loop it back to the black one too. Then cut one of the new wires you just made and run wires to somewhere inside the car for a switch.
. That should work
