Best way to transport a Vts engine??

  1. #1
In the Saxo? What's the best way to transport my Vts engine as was unsure about putting in the boot as the floor of the boot seems thin! Have seen someone put it in their rear passenger footwell before but when do you put under it?

    Cheers

I would take the passenger seat out Josh, and then put a bit of ply or mdf down in the footwell.

Where's it going from/to? I have access to a van

Last one I picked up I borrowed a van, one before I just put it in the boot of the Saxo with a sheet down

Josh it's going from Leeds(ls8) to emailer which are Harrogate/knaresbrough

I am going to see what the fit is like as when I take my tool box places I put it behind the seat then push the seat back till it holds it tight

Tell them to pick it up

The boot will hold loads, if you balance itout right.

I put a scrap tyre in the boot, and then stood a 2.5 v6 in the tyre to help dispurse the weight.
I also had 3 gear boxes, a rear beam, a bottom end from a 172, a full 1.4 from a nova and some other scrap...and did a fair old treck with it in.

But aslong as you dispurse the weight, dont worry aout it being in the boot. They hardly weigh anything.

When i got my 16v engine engine i just put the rear seat down and put a tyre in and me and a mate lifted it in and sat on the tyre then i put a gearbox in and all the other stuff and wedged it with another tyre, drove 50miles and it was fine but low on the rear and bouncey lol. the boot floor will take the weight.
