HELPPP !!! noise coming from power steering pump!!

    fitted a power steering pump on my saxo earlier today coz the old one was fucked. When i first started the car after fitting it it was fine but then after about 5mins of the engine running it made a weird noise and then stopped.

    drove it home and everything was fine but I then started it back up about half hour-hour later and it started making the same noise and its not stopping this time, its quite a loud noise but i have no idea what it is or whats causing it.

    Please does anyone know what this is?

    Other than you getting a video up of it(not being funny)i`d ask you did you bleed the power steering & fill it with fresh fluid?

    Yeah I know what you mean mate, its hard to explain. But there was alot of fluid left in the pump, could that be why? Been told it could be due to air in the system?

    I will also add that my steering is fine, so cant be the pump, otherwise it wouldn't be working....surely??

    Just undone the nut on the top to bleed it, done this with the engine idleing. but still made the whining noise, starting to bug me now!

    what else can i do? drain the whole pump and put fresh fluid in?

    worth a try, you know to do full lock to full lock when putting new fluid in?

    what kind of noise is it making? if you can get a vid or sound clip up, be easier.

    Yeah mate been turning it on full lock, and just like a loud whining noise, its not consistantly doing it, stops after a while and then might make the same noise for 10-15 seconds a bit later on, fuck knows, doing my head it, topped it up with fluid today, isnt doing it much now but still hanging over me now lol!

    my philosophy is if its gonna break its gonna break just leave it till then, mine duz it all the time nothing like a good hit with a hammer and wd40 cant help

    sounds like its on its way out mate, the noise is the brushes inside getting jammed. was it from scrappy?

    any other problems with the car?

    No mate, i got it 2nd hand off a mate, but im thinking surley if its on its way out the steering wouldnt be as light, becuase when my old one was on its way out, the steering would be heavy one day and then back to normall the next.

    and no other problems that i know off mate
