News : How to guide : Removing the front seats

  1. #1
    Hi all,

I apologise for how dirty the carpet is! it has now been removed!

Not really a massive problem but you never know who might need a guide like this, its pretty self explanatory and all you need is a torque bit about this size

***IMPORTANT*** When removing the seats make sure you disconnect the battery for about 10-15 minutes to make sure you do not trigger the airbag and after the battery has been disconnected make sure you disconnect the orange wire running directly under the seat it should be the only ORANGE wire
do this for both seats to be on the safe side.

All you need to do is remove 4 bolts on each side of the seat, starting with the inner bolt which is located nearest to the door and the front, you may need to move the seat backwards to see it, but its here.

after that remove the bolt directly opposite closest to the handbrake which is here.

after that slide the seat forwards carefully and reveal 2 more bolts just make sure you keep the other bolts safe!

Then remove the closest bolt to the door.

and again follow this step for the last bolt on the inner side of the seat.

Hopefully you should end up with something that looks like this, as i said not a major problem but hope this helps and goodluck.

Quick question, I want to fit a pair of vtr front seats to replace the clown ones in my furio. On the vtr seats there is an orange wire poking out with no connector on the end. How do I actually connect the wire to the car? And will this result in the airbag light coming on or not?
  10. #10
either replace the connector, or strip back both ends and connect it together with a connector block or something, this should make the light go off

If you fitting split seats to the rear of a flat arch saxo(not a 1 piece bench seat)then you`ll need 2 nuts & 2 brackets.Either from citroen or a scrapyard.

Remove the 10mm nut holding the negative "-" terminal on, or if it's like my old Vtr battery just unscrew the cap.

    Really self explanatory mate!!

Nice informative guide. Now I can take seats out and get all the crap out and also sort out the seats as one of the fittings has come off lol.

Perfect guide. Just what I needed as had money down the sides cuaing seats to not lock in place and omg £16.23 up lol.

First thing I noticed they wasn't catching and locking into place. 2nd when unscrewing they where not even tight they where lose and not even finger tight blots. Now cleared everything re aliened and tight and work perfect. Thx for the guide
