Yo...
Well ive got a 00' vts....and my fan wont kick in...
I know the fan works as i resorted to putting it on a switch after the following had been changed:
- BRAND new from citroen the fan temp switch (blue with red rig, goes into the radiator)
- New relay in loom
- New fues in box
- Checked wiring, as seems good...
onl thing that has been brought to my attention is that where the relay goes (in the fan couling), there is a 5 plug relay, and 5 wires...but only 4 plugs for the relay pins to go into, there is a thick yellow, thick pink, thin yellow, thin green and thin brown, the 3 thin ones are on seperate pins....but, the 2 thick ones are in one pin, and it looks asif the pink is live, then the yellow is bridged from the relay to the fan plug its self....
I tired bridging a wire from pin 5 (on relay) where the yellow goes into the fan...see if it was the 5th pin that was causing the problem...but no joy...so had to resort back to the switch...
Any ideas guys?
Also...ive just bought a twin fan couling vts/gti, with no fans, and went to put my fan into the couling (its running a mk2 single vtr fan, as when i bought the car, the twin couling and fan, were cracked and shot)
So i took the single fan out of its couling, and put it in the twin one...all looked and seemed good....closed the bonnet, went to try the fan on the switch...nothing....odd? yes, so i left the switch on, opened the bonnet and the bonnet was sat on the actual fan blade (not couling), and the fan started sipinning away as usual...question is...are all mk2 fans not the same?? seems asif the VTR fan is half an inch or so to wide for the couling...
Sorry for the massive essay...
Thanks alot in advance
