My car broke down yesterday, great. In the process of doing a clutch but drove it back to base with the old clutch in and yesterday it broke down. Turns out starter motors bust and ive also got a rear main oil seal gone.
What i need help with is this. If i get a new engine off of somebody on here with a gearbox on, it will be a straight forward old out, new in job. Just need an engine hoist. This will save the agg of getting the flywheel off and messing around with that clutch again. But, if i just repair the seal ive got a massiv job on my hands involving taking the head off, taking apart the big end bearings and so on.
Will it be easyer/cheaper to just get a new engine? There was a fella on here giving away his old vtr with half the milage on mine for free. Will this be the more sensible thing to do?
