Release Bearing Collar Question ?

  1. #1
Hi, I've just put a new clutch and release bearing in but as I was putting the release bearing in, I noticed that the collar it sits on has snapped from its base. (see picture). It must of been the old bearing nipping up. Will this matter ?

    Thanks in advance guys.

im not to sure on this bud but im sure most people on here would have got a complete clutch kit and changed it all while you were only wanting to do the release bearing its better to just change it all at the same time

Yeah, I did get a full kit and have changed the clutch, but just not sure if this bit is ok sliding up and down with the release bearing. Any Ideas ?

Yes, replace it otherwise the release bearing won't sit central, they're only a few quid.

I have to say ,that for that to break ,theremust be some other underlying problem --not a common thing .
like maybe the bear box brg at that end of the box is very sloppyallowing things to move up + down ?.
the oil in there would suggest that also
