looking to slam my vtr ;)

im looking to lower my vtr 40mm all round, however have no idea how to go about it haha... i dont want to fork out a fortune for it so if anyone could give me a rough idea of the cost (including labour) for springs or coils or something? would hugely appreciate any help... plus if anyone knows anywhere in the southampton/portsmouth area that will do this for me would be greatly appreciated
    many thanks!

100 pounds labour plus cost of front springs, btw 40mm is hardly slamming it really, just like driving round with a fat bird in your car lol

im gonna lower mine by 50mm all round but will i need new dampers or what?

Would recommend you get uprated dampers all round as well if you got the money, will make the ride and handling a lot better. Have a look in the for sale section on here or on ebay, cheap kits do pop up for around £100 for springs and dampers

what would happen if i didnt get dampers would it damage my car or just make the ride rougher?

The standard dampers won't last as long, and the ride would probably be harsher as they're not designed to be compressed that amount all the time? Not sure though.

std dampers dont last long once the cars been lowered there prone to leaking at the best of times

40mm should be ok with standard dampers, after all 40mm is just like having a full car of average size people (near enough anyway)

if that was aimed at me mine is currently lowered at 60mm but not got uprated dampers because it is off the road as a project, My old saxo had 40mm springs and it was fine on std dampers

i always recommend new dampers when i lower a car but at 40 ish mm its no cause to panics but cars feel so much better with a complete suspension setup but not everyone wants to shell out for the whole kit
