whats the squeek coming from my engine

   iv noticed theres a squeeking noise coming from the engine when in gear or moving, wondering if anyone knows what it could be??

   is it not your belt sqeaking mate ?? mine did it no so long ago and if i pushed down on the ignition pack it went :/, but i did spray WD40 on the belt and it dissapeared for a while

   Alternator belt slipping will squeak. Usually most noticeable on start up. When was it last changed?

   could be a mouse gerbil hamster or summat stuck under there n wen it gets hot it lets out a little moan

   hi mate, think i have the same problem? When the squeeking is happening if you press on the brake pedal does it disappear and re-appear when the brake peddle is released?

   Could be driveshaft, I had a similar 'squeak' which made a noise when decelerating and dipping the clutch... One driveshaft had already been replaced but the seal wasn't done correctly so had that sorted a new drivers side driveshaft and topped up gear box oil and all squeaks have gone...
   
   A belt squeak will be a lot more noticeable and I wouldn't have thought changed in noise when braking, dipping clutch, accelerating etc.
   
   Can hear it when stationary?

    my mate had a squeek on his when he braked it went it was drive shaft sorry for the stupid ansa was pissed up lol
