#4No you will def have to take the strut out, not a huge job though should only take about half hour if everything goes to plan. Had to change one of my top mounts last night as I sheared a bolt off that comes through into the bay by over tightening lol
-
#5That bolt that goes through the engine bay is on too tight on mine, but because of that gold cup it sits in I can't get my ring/swan neck spanner to the base of the nut, so it just wants to round off
-
#6why would you want to take that off with the strut still fitted can i ask? just curious
-
#7I meant one of the 3 that come through attacthed to the top mount!Quote:That bolt that goes through the engine bay is on too tight on mine, but because of that gold cup it sits in I can't get my ring/swan neck spanner to the base of the nut, so it just wants to round off

I also had a problem making the swan neck fit down inside the cup to get a good grip on the nut. So using a bench grinder just ground the spanner down all round and fitted in there perfect -
#8if only everyone was this lucky to have a bench grinder lolQuote:I meant one of the 3 that come through attacthed to the top mount!

Should there be that much gap? -
#11Looks about right to be fair. Are you changing the actual top mount or the top mount bearings?
