Friction Fighter 4000 ??

  1. #1
Was in my local motorfactors today picking up a new air filter & seen some stuuf on the shelf in a old school tin called friction fighter 4000. £7.34 for 400ml it appears to be made in a local laboratory in hartlepool company is called D.A.E

Which is cheap compared to slick50.

Anyway we were fitting an oil cooler tonight & needed to add some extra oil, so I put this friction fighter stuff in.

The car sounds quieter & i feels like it revs a bit better.

I will drop it back on the rollers to see if this stuff has actually added an bhp at all.

Has anyone else tried any slick50 or zx1 extralube type stuff ?

D.A.E is a good brand, I work for a motor factor (Andrew Page Ltd) and we stock D.A.E stuff, mainly engine flush and fuel cleaners, I've not come across that Product they do though may just be one we don't sell.

But D.A.E is better than some of the shut that garages use such as forte, which doesn't even work, well the petrol cleaner doesn't anyway and I've seen the tests done too

    I agree

I still wouldn't put anything like that in my engine, no matter how good the company is

If you use decent oil you won't need for these sorts of products as the decent oils have plenty of additives in them

My grandad used to work for D.A.E and he said the improvements on some old cars that had been neglected servicing wise turned out to run alot better when this was used. Just the fact that because the brand isn't well known everyones worried about what it will do fact is it will help it in certain situations. If your car is serviced regularly then results would obviously be lesser than that of a car that wasn't

Put a well known brand name on such as Castrol and everyone would rate it purely because of the name.

slick50 has been proven to be snake oil. Most likely this is the same. Theres ingredients on the back of the bottle. I would suggest doing a bit of research.
Personally I believe everything an engine needs is already in a good quality oil. Theres no need for additives.

Agree. If just adding some simple additive you could better an engine oil the oil manufactures would already offer this already added in there top line oils.
