How to adjust hand brake

Just wonded where do u adjust your handbrake cable cheers

You need to adjust the adjuster in the rear drums (if you have drums) so that the drums only just go on. The shoes need adjusting if you've got loads of brake pedal travel.

To do just the cables, underneath the car above the centre box, you might need to remove a heat sheild.

Under car, you may need you remove a heat shield to get to it though.

did mine yesterday (discs beam) you need to remove the heat shield directly above the middlebox it has 6 bolts and the heatshield is a pain to be honest with you. Because of the heat i guarantee 100 percent you will break a nut when undoing it as they corrode! 9/10 the head of the nut comes off but leaves the thread in the hole and to top it off you need to adjust the handbrake by about 4inch or so but due to lack of space you can only get a quarter turn iirc its a 7mm spanner? could be wrong but GL

Handbrake adjustment you'll need a 13mm spanner - ratchet spanner is easier.

If you break the nuts holding the heat sheild on, just whack a few self-tappers in there

Ahh yes 13mm spanner! humm self tappers are ok and do the job but what if the rest of the nut is inside the hole? drill it?

Yer just see if u can get them out if not just drill a new 2 3 mm pilot hold and put new srews in
