vts wont start, really stumped now HELP!!!!

Hi guys, the vts decided it wouldnt start last night, had to get towed hime by a vtr

Anyway, the fuel pump primes, fuel is getting to the fuel rail.
I took the coilpack out, fitted 4 spark plugs and earthed it to the engine block, it fired then. Could the insulation on the coilpack be gone? As it wont fire when its in the engine but will when its out of it?

    Any other ideas?

If you have a mate with a vts swap the coil pack over, see if it fires.

Im trying to get my mate to let me use his, but he's being a fanny about it

Ok my mate wouldnt give me the coilpack, so i bought a new one along with 4 new plugs.

Tested it, all 4 plugs firing, its injecting fuel and its getting compression on all 4 cylinders (100psi on 3 and 90psi on one of them) Its all turning over on the starter motor as it should yet it still wont start!

Any ideas guys? Im really stumped now and cant do without a car much longer

i was going to say battery but if its turning over then its not the battery

is it just turning over and over without starting? spray some brake cleaner into the inlet and see what it does, if it fires up id say something to do with injectors, maybe the crank sensors faulty so the injectors arent getting a signal to fire

After a good think thats What I came up with mate, also picked my mates brains and he said there may be water in the tank so il check that.

Will update the thread tomorrow for those that care lol

    Cheeser? lol

Think it must have sucked some crap up from the bottom of the tank, or i flooded it trying to start it. This combined with a coilpack on the way out meant it wasn't starting. I turned the engine over a few times in a effort to clear any gunk out of it, then bump started it. It idled like a bag of shit, had to keep feathering the throttle. Took it out for a long drive to clear out any remaining shit, idles perfectly and starts fine hot and cold

I plan on checking and cleaning a few remaining sensors tomorrow just to make sure there ok anyway

So I guess I didn't sort it, the car ran fine for 2 few days then one day I turned it on and the idle was very low and after a few seconds it cut out. Any idea's What it might be? Otherwise il have to call out a mobile mechanic to do a diagnostic test as I think a sensor is to blame

Did you start it again after?

Yeah it ran fine for like a week, then the issue above happened and after that it wouldnt start at all, same symptoms as before
