Important! : Saxo 98'' VTS

  1. #1
    Hi people.

Just picked up the saxo vts today got it cheap with 68,000 on the clock. Bodywork is in fantastic condition for the age.

    Got a few problems.

The OIL and TEMP gauge is not reading how do i fix this? ( If there is a sensor i need can u tell me which one it is to fix these thanks )

The bonnet leaver clip has snapped so i need a new one of these ( were do i get one? ).

Engine side... The engine is not losing power at all..... Ive never had a saxo and on idle it seems to be like a judderly sound ( could be normal no idea ).

Also is it normal for the car to give should a sweet tone when u put ur foot down it sounds like there is actually already a induction kit on the car lol ( But its completely standard ).

Thanks for any answers to my questions big help!

I found some on ebay mate dont know if they will work though here:

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/CITROEN-SAXO-X...item5d2b330e5e

Yeah i will give the engine a good service - oil and oil filter, plugs, fuel filter etc.

Ive got a powergrip belt kit aswell as its on 68,000 and dont think the women who had it before for 11 years has changed it yet so that will be done aswell...

So the cooler and oil gage thing will be like a relay or fuse? ( Would you know of top of ur head which ones i should be checking? )

Is it easy to change also what should the sensor look like so i know i have the right one?

itll jus look like a small pin, kinda like the round pin on plug you have for a european 2 prong plug.

Google the pic it will probably come up.

Easy to change, just like undoing a bolt. And you replace the one thats the same colour as your replacement! Cant go wrong Where abouts in notts are you btw?

I shouldn`t worry too much if the car is running ok,i`ve got no idea what that plug does, don`t forget English spec saxo`s don`t have all the same equipment fitted to them as other countries and will have plugs like these.

There is a problem mate the coolant temp gage is not working.... Therefore the ecu is not reading it correctly so its running rich?

What do the blue and green plug do ?

I thought it would be green is ecu reader and blue is the oil temp reader for the gage on the right hand side on the dash board

The blue plug is for the temperature guage reading, the green 1 is the coolant temperature sensor for the fuel injection.

So that blue plug that is plugged in should read the temp on the dashboard on the left hand side?
