Help!! Magnex 3.5" + pipercross viper fitted

Sup!,
Right..am new to the whole saxo modification scene, recently bought a 51 plate mk2 VTR which am intending to slowly upgrade. so i started with the basics.

THE STORY!!
last night the car had a standard vtr exhaust and had a pipercross induction kit (NOT THE VIPER, just the standard one) installed. the car sounded very nice with a fairly deep grawl. so i decided i want the car sounding abit more naughty! so i went and bought a MAGNEX 3.5" back box and a PIPERCROSS VIPER INDUCTION KIT WITH DIRECT AIR FEED then went and installed them both.

THE PROBLEM!!
Now the car is so quiet its unbelivable! id hit 6k and hear NOTHING...i must admit the car is so much smoother to drive..the response is very smooth makes it a pleasure to drive..but the car has 0 noise...VERY ANNOYED! i basically got the opposite of what i wanted! you'd imagine with a magnex and pipercross viper = sweet deep grawls..not in my case!!!!!!!

PLEASE ANY IDEAS WHY THIS MAY BE? i undone the pipercross took it for another spin running with no air filter it sounds the exact same! so it cant be the pipercross..it certainlly somethin to do with my exhaust system or the new magnex backbox! would a decat help? or just install a different backbox? is there such thing as a silenced magnex backbox? the solution may be dead obvious but like i said am a noob and new to this

just feel i wasted alot of money

You need to buy full straight through exhaust system buddy...

wow i only wanted a bit of noise now gonna end up splashin hundereds more on what i already have :| what if i just change the back box as magnex i recently found are quiet in general? maybe changing the backbox solves it..not wantin daft loud exhaust, but somethin after 3k-3.5k revs gives a nice rawr

mines is only a 1.1 and gives a nice rumble after 3k so dont know whats up with your but if you do want a it louder sell the magnex and get a supersprint or sportex or something

yeah i think am gonna do that..the magnex will sell straight away i assume :d just want someone with experience to give me the green light to do that :o incase it may not be the backbox

but think am gettin a rough idea!

Straight through system with 4-1 Mani I've got the same set up and mine is sounding sweet

ive got a magnex back box and de cat.. sound like this..
Didnt really give it much though.. i like it..

Edit: silver bumper needs to be sprayed gold still

HEEELLLPPPPP!!

Magnex's are not loud in the car, especially on VTR's. Outside you may get a slight rumble and thats about it. Simple as that.

The backbox acts as a silencer.

that sounds a beaut! am gonna put a mk1 421 manifold with decat first and see how that sounds if still not pleased ill change backbox...sound good idea?

ouchh! mine is a mk2 it be a nightmare decating it with standard mani because the decat is right under the manifold lmao so its a job and half..so fit in a 421 mk1 mani then decat is a piss job..but if i was u id get it decat straight away ull feel the difference and will sound louder but maybe too loud :o will certainly pop like a mutha fu**a
