i thought my drive shaft was cattle trucked. turns out it could be my wheel bearing. had the car jacked up, there is a little play from top to bottom, hence reasoning it could be bearing. i know they a pig to change, so gonna change the whole strut(scrapyard jobby). wiil any four stud strut fit my 2000 vtr. it doesnt have abs.? could i use summit from a pug 106 etc, cos cant find vtr parts in scrapyard. any help?? cheers

#3i've been advised to replace the offside wheel bearing on my car, are they really that bad to change considering you have the right tools i.e press etc.?

#4when i changed mine it tuk 6hrs. when i was putting the new bearing in it collapsed. i didnt have a press to put it in with though. you prob b fine with one of those

#5soz for sounding like a novice, but is the tapered and flat end easy to spot? and it is the side that goes through the hub with the hub nut on the end???? any pictures

#7Its not really that big a job without a press shouldn't take you more than a couple of hours. Need a blowtorch, big hammer a good drift and an angle grinder. Tapered axles have long nuts on them straight ones have shorter nuts.1 user thanked this post:
