Squeeking front passenger wheel

  1. #1
Ok i searched and there is like 244723984 threads with the title "squeeking"

So i am looking for clarification as to which squeek mine is...

I hit a big motherchuffin pothole on the way home and then i noticed a squeeking coming from the wheel, at first it was kind of intermittent,

but now its constant and squeeks with the speed of the wheel...

    Am i making any sense?

    Whats the prob? Driveshaft?

Possibly a wheel bearing, i had a 207 with a squeeky wheel, and it was due to the wheel bearing being damaged due to a big thump in the road,

would probably say wheel bearing too but check that its not just the cv gaitor thats burst and has no grease in it as this caused a squeeking noise on my saxo

another thought, it could be one of the Bottom ball joints, check for excessive movement,

Ah ok guys cheers, ill check for movement and try and get the wheel off to see if the cv is burst, if not then ill take to a garage. There was a little squeek from the same wheel for the last few weeks when I went over speed bumps and stuff, although that pothole seems to have finished it off!

Ok been driving it again today, not had a chance to check anything over, however i have noticed that the squeeking seems to go away when i brake!?

    Any ideas?

    Anyone?

Checked the rubber seal, doesnt appear to be split, and there is no extra play in the wheel or anything... Worrying me now as it seems to be getting worse... turning into a more metallic grinding now

    Ahhhh man...... no-one?

Ah well.... well if it helps, the noise doesn't seem to stick about after all, sometimes its quiet then its loud, then you can't hear it at all... weird

    mine was doing this!!
it was a loud squeek well not loud loud but noticable.. and i notice it at speeds between about 5-25 mph n speeds up as i go stays when i break tho... i went to a mechanic he said my driveshaft is fine and could be one of those things..

i was going to pay out 130 for a new driiveshaft anyway as i was determinded it had to be this... and now winter is over the weather is a bit warmer the squeek has gone

I have this aswel. When I'm going at a slow speed and turn right I hear a horrible metallic grinding sound, I will check the cv gaitor tomorrow in the light. If it is the cv would it fix it by packing it with grease or will it be completely fucked because i have had this noise for quite a while now. :/
