vts wont rev abouve 2000-3000rpm

   hi people im hoping some of you can help me as im really stuck on whats wrong with my car its a saxo vts mk2
   
   firstly i was driving around everything was fine , then my cat started rattling etc like it was breaking up so on the way home i think it got clogged and i lost power and there was no sound out my back box but my induction kit was sucking like mad
   I cut the cat out cleaned out the exhaust and put a straight through pipe in replacement of the cat , but my car still has no power it only revs up to 2000rpm - 3000rpm then pops etc BUT .... i disconected the battery for 30mins and put back on then it started fine rev and drove spot on but all of a sudden dies back down and does the same thing , i has started spot on without me taking of the battery aswell so im just really confused

   It sounds to me like your exhaust still has a blockage somewhere from the cat breaking up & your not getting the correct amount of pressure in the exhaust,which I why you can`t rev as freely as before

   hi mate , no i took of the entire exhaust system as i thought it was that , so tried it with just the manifold attached and it still does it ,

   I have the same problem, engine stutters above 2000rpm. If i put the pedal down it comes up to 2100rpm then i dies/drops down to 1500 before it picks up to about 2000 again. I disconnected the Changed fuel filter and car was OK for two days, then back to the same. I am considering that it could be HG failure, so my next step would be to get a compression test.

   Exhaust blockage mate this happened to me in my pinto execpt incouldnt rev above 2k and it struggled to get to 60. Best bet is to check your zorst

   Just read re rest of the thread have you throughly checked the exhaust?
   Other alternative would be your ecu is failing mate

   Sounds like a 3 plug ECU has shat itself tbh.
   
   If not that, I have a similar problem with a hell of alot of Coilpacks, the car won't rev over about 3k for about a mile, stuggles then tries cutting out, after you keep the foot to the floor it comes out of its spaz mode and boots off.

   I have recently purchased a saxo vts mk2 2000 plate and i too am experiencing the same effects,, would you have any idea ?
