Quick shift - external vs internal?

  1. #1
Just a quick question here, I've had a search but couldn't find what I was looking for.

Basically, I just got my VTR on saturday and love it. But the gears seem very loose. Whats the best quick shift for someone in my position? Car will be road use only, deff wont be near a track anytime soon haha.

    cheers in advance.

    B&M,
    Griffiths engineering,
    Compbrake.

    Thats my opinion anyway.

Do agree with kam....a grub screw coming loose whilst out driving is a complete ball ache.

we stopped selling the compbrake ones due to too many customer issues with the grubscrews.

could you tell me the problem with the compbrake quick shift? ive got one and just replaced the gearbox and clutch but the gear change has gone really stiff .... just wondering if this grub screw problem is related to the selecting gear problem

The quickshift wont get rid of that loose gear stick..check the roll pin on the gearbox and also look under the car where the gearstick is and thier is two 10mm bolts you can replace the bushings thier or try giving them a proper tighten that should tighten your great stick up

The problem is you cut the nylon ball off and the gear lever is held in place by 4 grub screws. If these blunt off (usually due to loosening due to the lack of threadlock) they do not grip properly and the lever slides down when a heavy hand is applied.
