Just brought a vtr 2002 to try and save fuel from running my v6 petrol audi! the vtr needed work which ive nearly completed, headgasket, thermostat, and rear end damage.
How the temp gauge reads half way when ignition is first turned on and when engines warms up it slowly drops to nothing and keep the engine running it gets hot as you would exspect but the fan doesnt kick in and it gets that hot i have to turn it off but fan never kicks in.
Its a 2002 on a 3 plug ecu, when you remove the blue 2 wire sensor connector fan cuts in a light comes on dash, i have replaced both temp sensors and the ecu has just been sent off to be tested but theres no faults there and im very annoyed now as the ecu testing cost as much as it did to fix the rest of the car.
has anyone had a problem before like this? also earths i have checked and temporarily added extra earths but no change.
