ECU Fault

   I have recently been informed that my ecu is shot, and need a new one but the car still runs allbeit an acceleration problem, that I cant solve.... And the engine management light does not show on the dashboard. Am I to assume that if the ecu is shot, not only would there be the engine management light on the dash but also the car wouldn't run???? Or could there be certain parts of the ecu be at fault????.................Or is it a stitch up????

   your wrong, they can run the car fine but with strange effects. I have one that youde swear was the coilpack breaking down under load but its the ecu itself!

   OK. Well I certainly dont want to buy a new one as it'll be worth more than the car, would it be possible to get my one checked further and have it repaired???
