Help me????

Hi, my vts is making a painful noise!!!

It's coming from the drivers front wheel, it only happens when I turn left. It sounds like my disc is scraping :s so I took my wheel off and u can move the whole hub in your hand! I've just put new driveshafts in so I check the nut on the end of that but that's fine!

    Any suggestions please?

Is it a knocking noise? Possible driveshaft?

I've put new driveshafts in and they've been in for 2 weeks, it's not that I don't think, I was thinking ball joint on my wishbone???

If you've replaced the driveshaft and the hub nut is properly torqued up, if you can move the whole hub with your hand it will almost definitely be the Bottom ball joint,
but to make sure, shake the hub again, but this time look at the ball joint to see if it is moving or has excessive play,

    Hope you sort it mate!

Yh thanks mate, I think the noise that sounds like the disc scraping might be that little metal shield that covers the ball joint touching the disc when it moves! It's moving so much it is unreal but o h e no choice but to potter to work 10 miles away! Oh well lol, do u know what a rough price would be for a wishbone? I might aswell change both while I'm at it.

The thing is I've literally just put Powerflex wishbone bushes in and believe me they ent coming back out easy lol

The prices for track control arms, new are prob £50-100 each depending on what manufacturer/quality you want,
How did you put the bushes in? Where they a press fit?

Well to be honest mate gettin the old ones out were a nightmare so me and a mate burnt them out lol, then smashed the other ones in with a mallet it's so tight I doubt they will come out which is a tad annoying!

yep, not 100% sure if they are the correct ones though,

place arm in a vice, heat up area around the ball joint with a small gas torch for a few mins, knock the ball joint out with a hammer, eg, hit the spigot end down

you will see that the arm has small splines in it as well as the outside of the new ball joint, just knock the new one in with a hammer.
    job done
