Maximum BHP with pugsport?

  1. #1
What is the most BHP that the pugsport system can flow, ive seen figures around 210 on similar 2"systems

And are the restrictive when it comes to boost there obviously designed for N/A and not seen many people use them on boosted cars

will in the future get a 2.5" system made up, but for now im using the pugsport

id be interested to know this actually, would like to use a saxsport this time round

it depends really. on a naturally aspirated engine the exhaust can seriously hinder performance if too small, a 2" system would be good for circa 180=190hp and then id move up to 2.25" but with a boosted car you can make much more but noise will go up dramatically. 220hp on boosted car maybe. never done any proper testing so its a stab in the dark really.

Try reading this website in the tuning guide. This is more of a tuning bible.

It says 2" bore is good for 162bhp

most say anything 200bhp and over should move up to 2.5' as itll become restrictive, tis a nice round num so makes you wonder, but youve just got to look at a 98bhp vtr and say that at twice stock power and all these inlet mods that provoke/force more fuel/air through your engine, its only sensible to modify the exhaust to give a better flow, if the waste gas cant escape properly this going to hinder power greatly

50mm internal bore is good for 190bhp easy. Its only really beyond that you need to start testing to see which works for your particular engine.

I ran my race engine on a pugsport with just over 200bhp and no problems with it.
