as above really, i have a j4/jp4 hybrid motor and really could do with finding something a little more compact in terms of the alternator, i dont have a vast amount of space between the rad bottle and alternator..

oh its a ph1 106 rallye hence the limited bay size, and yes i have smashed a few rads already, keep loosing talent lol......

all advice and ideas welcomed thanks

the single v belt alternators sit slightly further from the block a the alternator is pulled away to tension the belt.......... even with the shortest belt i could find it was similar.

may be able to find a jap alternator as there tiny little units, anyone use brisa????

no i havnt, i work for a sportscar maker and we use the vitara ones on cars with less than ideal space. not offered one up on a TU engine. size isnt going to be your proble,, its just mounting and tensioning it propely.

hmmm, are they the same wiring configuration? mounting shouldnt prove too problematic, theres a lot of scope for modding on the block. plus i have some big snap on hammers lol...
so the rusty old vit may come in handy in the end.

obviously youd have to work out what goes where, but i cant see the wiring being a problem at all.
