Clutch slipping

Clutch is slipping due to oil on the plate, car is continouesly leaking engine oil

Whats the most likely place the oil is leaking from?

    Thanks

crank baring behind the flywheel most probabal causee

is it defo engine oil ? as if not it can be the seal in the gearbox where the clutch release bearing goes there are 3 bolts behind it and there 8mm, if you undo it and check the seal hasnt been damaged

have you smelt the oil to tell if its engine oil ? does it feel really fine oil ? as i reckon thats what its more likely to be

Yea its definitely engine oil, how bigger job is the crank baring?
  5. #5
It would be a crank seal not a bearing!

Its a box off job to replace it.

so its not massive massive job then really

It depends what you consider a massive job i guess.

Well its pretty much just as much work as changing a clutch?

pretty much but can be a bloody effort sometimes. plenty of cups of tea me thinks

yeah saxo gearboxes are easy to remove, but if you dont have acess to a ramp then crawling around on the floor is the hard part
