ICV?

  1. #1
    hey

just wondering if its the ICV that needs replacing or something else?

basically my 1.4 furio stalls when coming to a stop, only when in the lower gears, and only does it when has been crap weather or cold.

before i buy a new ICV just want to make sure it's nothing else.

i've cleanen it several times, which does nothing at all.

been like this for a while but left it, but just now i stalled in middle of a roundabout, nearly caused an accident, shook me up abit. so im on it today to try get this problem fixed.

sounds like it mate by any chance have you cleaned our throttle boddie.
i wouldn't buy a new i.c.v. as the cheap ones are shit and the propper oe ones are way overpriced for what they are.

sounds like your icv if you find out if the part number is the same for the vtr i have one in my shed i got with a manifold you can have for 12 quid.

Before spending anything, take out the throttle cable and spray wd40 around it and down it, mine did the same thing, stalled when i dropped the clutch

it might be the map sensor when mine went i had it on the diagnostic came up with 3 codes 1 was map sensor 1 was I.C.V they didnt know what the other was they changed the map sensor but still had same codes

idles pretty much spot on tbh, only a real slight twitch of the needle when running from cold until it warms up, which i suppose is normal. When using anything electrial in the car, it can sometimes drop abit then go back up.

only have this problem when its called or shite weather, like today its snowing so its being a right cunt.

had a full service btw, new coilpack, plugs etc etc.

I was going to suggest coil pack.

Check the map sensor also, the problem i had with mine was the lambda cables were split had to be re-connected, look into your lambda check wires and give it a clean.

I would also look at adjusting the throttle cable is it idling too low say 500rpm adjust it to suit to 900rpm there abouts which should stop it cutting out.

If this doesn't work get a diagnostic test around £20 it could bring up a fault you have over looked or just tell you, you need to replace he icv better to know then spending alot of money down Citroen as it could be any of these things.

    idles at 900rpm or thereabouts.

think im gonna get it on diagnostics next week, to try pinpoint it.

would a diagnostics bring up any probelms? as most of the time the car is fine, only does it in bad weather,
