Important! : Help please !!

   My vtr needs a new ecu but I have now tried a few and the car still isn't going right (keeps cutting out)
   
   Am now thinking it might have something to do with the fact that I bypassed the ignition barrel because of the common problem when the power steering and heaters stopped working.
   
   Anyone have any ideas ?

   The bypass should not affect the ecu.
