radiator upgrade

   just want to know if i can fit the vts radiator and twin fan system onto the vtr as my radiator is kna****d and thought it would be a good upgrade

   By an aluminium one off ebay for cheaper than the standard copper ones. Aluminium also has a better (20%) cooling efficency. If your radiator is nakered just buy one of them and you will not need to upgrade the fan.

   you DO, need to upgrady the fan cause the vtr one wont fot the vts radiator!
   
   i put a vts rad on for the conversion. it bolts straight on. the holes are already there for it.there are just 2 wores that you have to link together for the fan but thats it. there are 2 yellow wires a green and i think a white. do the two yellows together then the green & the white together.

   none at all! there will be two plugs onm the wiring loom going to the vtr radiator. one to the fan (black i think) and one to the bottom right of the radiator (blue). when you get the vts radiator it slots in two holes at the bottom and you have to get two bolts to bolt it on about 6 inches either side of the bonnet catch.
   
   there is only one fan on the big fan cowel. you will only use the black plug which is the wires to your fan. like i said yellow-yellow and green-white. really easy. dont forget that the fan shout now sit in front of the radiator and not under the bonnet!
   
   o yer and you will need to cut your bottom radiatir hose down to accomodate the extra wisth of the vts rad.
   
   make sure you leave enough to be able to slot it on though!

   cheers. think this would be better option, and keep things cooler than fitting standard vtr? as i want to mod engine a bit.

   second hand about 40-50quid matey. forget brand new!
   
   will make a big difference. my vts runs on nearly cold so will be mint for a vtr!

    you can buy a brand new rad from HERE for £61.60 i just brought one for my vtr/S you would want the 106 S2 1.6 GTi 16v TU5J4 one hope this helps

    cheers mate. but i know a mate at als where i live and i can get it for 40 quid but i am lookin 4 the vts fan at mo cant replace rad till i get it as vtr one is to small.

    to be honest mate you can put the radiator on and then buy the fan after as you wont get anywhere near hot enough to use the fan. i dont and i got a vts! with a vtr you wont go near!

    got new radiator in yesterday the temp sits at about 1/4 and only goes to about half sat in traffic but dont have the fan yet. hopefully get it soon then shouldnt budge at all from 1/4.

    yer ali ones are good i have one
    
    they dont corrode as much, if at all like copper ones
    
    but they cant be repaired unlike copper ones
