Clutch?

  1. #1
    Hi.

Im not sure if its just me but my clutch feels quite alot different compared to other cars i have driven, as i press on the clutch it feels abit stiff and gets to "the biting point" it sort of jumps past a stiff part and gets loose same when pulling back off the clutch aswell.

im not sure if its because of my car just generaly being old and its meant to be like that or could one of you shed some light on my situation?

Most 'modern' cars have a hydraulic clutch which does feel a bit different to the Saxo's cabled clutch.

This is true, but he said he hits a hard spot, both of mine are smooth, to me it sounds like the Cable is getting caught/Worn or the pressure plate is worn

The Cable could be dry, I oil mine every now and then, keep it smooth, same for my Throttle other wise they become stiff lol.

Well, put your hand break on,put the car in 3rd, let the clutch up without any throttle, if it stalls it's fine, if it doesn't or takes a while to stall then it's slipping.
