supersprint centre pipe!!:@

   Sup!
   right i've just bought 1x supersprint pipe that was on offer earlier LINK
   i bougt it for my MK2 saxo which is all standard apart of the magnex backbox.
   
   now the problem is..a friend of mine is tellin me this will not fit without the correct downpipe and manifold and wont decat unless gettin the right manifold as the cat is in the manifold on a mk2.
   
   on the description in the link it does not say anythin about fittin a mk1 or mk2 so i assumed it fits both easily so i went ahead like a divvy and bought it.
   
   now am shittin it coz i've been tryin to do my exhaust system for a while and now bought some pipes that maybe need even more work/money spent on...gahhh! someone please explain to me what the deal is and what i should now do f**kin saxos!

   Any centre pipe fits any saxo.. But if your cat is in the manifold, it won't decat it, If it's under the car, It will decat it. Simple :-)

   what about a downpipe? whats that and would i need one? or that pipe work i bought just connect to the manifold without extra bits?

   The downpipe is just the 2nd half of the standard manifold, it's in 2 pieces..
   
   The bit that comes out of the engine block, and then the downpipe or cat in your case is attached. Then it fixes underneath to the centre pipe.
   
   What year is your saxo? If it's a Y plate then it will have a cat under the car, If it's newer then it's in the downpipe.

   i brought a SS centre pipe like you and had standard manifold, should fit fine, then i got a new manifold so that should decat it btw my was a mk2 aswell

   no i don;t think so. think magnex have different connection than the ss end.
   
   and if you have standard undercar the ss will take off the silencer part on standard system

   Ace -pk's cat looks like it in his mani,
   
   His Magnex back box will fit the supersprint center as its a popular conversion. th SS may just need shortening to sleeve in.
   
   All he needs is a 4-2-1 for a 8v & a lambda blank to blank off the 02 sensor

   he needs the 4-1 manifolds really unless he wants to piss around with the oil filter.
   As long as the magnex is an olive fitment to fit a standard centre pipe it will fit the supersprint race centre pipe.

    Anything before Y reg its under the car 90bhp versions
    Y reg onwards the cat is in the mani 98bhp versions.
    So if your car is y reg or newer then you will need a different manifold to de-cat the car, also a supersprint will NOT fit directly onto your MAGNEX backbox as it is a sleeve joint on the magnex and a oem olive fitting on the supersprint. Only way to do it is cut around 10" off the supersprint and have them welded together.

    was a 51 plate..car is gone now anyway some chav decided to write me off..nothin like a nice 2k whiplash claim..thanks anyway now i actually understand exactly everythin about the exhaust system..hopefully new saxo next week sometime then be back!
