central locking problem

   when i press the key button it sets the alarm but the locks go down and up again and dont lock, the central locking works with the key just not with the button it looks like all the others door pins and locks are moving but not the driver side, this happened a while ago for a little while then started working again but now has stoped again, has anyone had this before or know what is the problem?

   Stick a new locking mechanism in it. but before ordering take it all apart inside (drivers door) and investigate. chances are something sticking or a bit loose. from my experience a bit of wtite lithium grease onto the moving parts does the job.
