spray paint gearbox???........

   hello i want to paint my gearbox in ford ST orange but i cant find and hi temp
   paint in that colour thats looks good or a good price.
   
   
   
   so...... i was thinking if i primer the gearbox then spray it with halfords paint
   then use hi tep lacquer over the top think it will work?? i dont want it to set on fire LOL

   you don't need high temp paint to paint a gear box. what you do need is a specialist aluminium primer (hammerite special metal primer) and then a good few coats of primer filler.
   
   rub that down to a smoooth finish then the focus st orange of your choice then any decent clear coat job done.
