spare wheel carrier stuck

   not had a spare in there for pretty much the last year, and went to put my spare in today (after finally getting the valve fixed) to find it won't loosen. tried penetrating fluid but when i go to undo it from the top it simply just bends the cage around. got the cage out eventually by levering it out and turns out i tightened it too far when i took the wheel out, and won't loosen off (so can't put the spare back in!)
   
   any idea of how to get it loose? or even cut it off and replace with a bolt that has a head?

   can you not remove the cage and then get a mate with a little bar poss a breaker put it in the jaw of the hook and spin the top part? if nto then leave it put a can of tyre weld in your car i havent had a spare for about a year now just keep a can of tyre weld in my car

   A socket with a bar welded in the middle of it with mole grips on the other side
   
   If all else fails use an angle grinder and a new bolt.

   will try a socket and some grips, or cut the bugger off
