Hi, a few months ago i had to change some engine valves on my VTS, I put it back together (compression test ok) and it ticks over fine. However ive noticed its started idling it 1500 revs when it used to rev at 1000 before. It also feels really sluggish on acceleration unless i completly floor it which I dont like to do. Its not eating petrol i would guess at it been electric but im unsure. When putting the engine back together i accidentally shorted out the ignition coil and broke it , i replaced it with a second hand one. This would me my guess to the problem, does anybody have any other ideas, cheers , craig

#3My mate had that problem after a diy cambelt change, the timing was a tooth out. check urs is dead on. Even i was surprised when he told me.
Also blocked or broken-up cat can cause a lack of power. normally happens after for example a missfire. check that exhaust pressure is good. -
#4If its the CAT breaking up they sometimes rattle as you accelerate(sounds like gravel in a tin can)Quote:My mate had that problem after a diy cambelt change, the timing was a tooth out. check urs is dead on. Even i was surprised when he told me.

Thats something i will defintly look at , the timing as it was out anyway when i tested it the first time so i still may have not got it just right, my cat is only 4 months old so i hope its not that , cheers
