My Brakes

   Hi, i have a problem when im driving if im driving fast and i use the brakes the steering wheel shakes like mad and when ive almost stopped the car jurks until i stop, do i need new brakes pads or discs or both? only had mot in october and he said they were fine and he didnt put an advisory on them.
   
   any ideas?

   New discs and pads mate,pretty sure that`ll cure it.

   was gonna take the wheels off today to have a closer look but its raining really bad lol and dont have a garage, is there any other way i can check that i dont need to take wheels off?? and is the car safe for now?? it still stops lol

   If it was me, id chill on the breaks untill u get them replaced. unless u want to snap a disc

   can i really snap a disc?? when i checked the other day there didnt seem to be a lip on the discs could i have no pads and its rubbing metal to metal?? is it worth replacing them all or try pads first or will that put a groove of the discs on them that i dont want.

   You really need to take your car to a garage mate,where they can check out your brakes,ie measure the thickness of the discs & check they are not warped.

   Yes you can but its rare. also like said before check for wapred disc's because this will cause un-even breaking hence the shaking.
   
   If the disc's look to be ok, they may be the pads. TBF buy a kit of ebay for around 50 with discs and pads and fit them yourself takes an hour or 2
