    Hey guys,

need some quick mechanical knowledge to help me out of a shitty situation,

on my new car ive tried to remove the locking wheel nut, and BANG its exploded to pieces!

ive tried the usual method of small socket over it to remove but its fell apart and now there nothing left to grip onto, only like the last 1/4 of the nut is left and i cant get it off, ive tried using a chisel to smash it off the stud but its just chewing the chisel up, anyone every had this on a car?

im thinking drill the nut until it cracks and falls off the bolt then i can get the wheel off, FYI is not a nut&bolt like a saxo, the only thing that unscrews is the nut and the bolt is part of car

yeah i know wrong section but really need a quick response MOT is coming up

    cheers guys and girlies

Can the bolt be removed ? If so you can buy a new set pin for it. And cut the bolt between the hub and the inside of the wheel

Other way is to drill small holes on each corner of the nut and then try the chisel again.

So the nut is in pieces inside the hub?

A picture would really be helpful

will try drilling it tonite and see how it goes,

it looks like a massive washer attached to the bolt/stud, and far into the hole in wheel so no socket can get around it etc..

You could drill in between the bolt and the nut all the way round then try and take it off that way.

Once the wheels off you can usually replace the hub bolts depends on what kind of car it is?

Youll need a good drill bit mind..

Fucking big chisel will take it off but could knacker the wheel.

Once round the block will loosen a stuck wheel nut too, not my advice though if it comes off.

haha yea ive been googling to find a solution and some 'wheel specialists' just take all the nuts off and drive with the stuck one left on until it loosens up :O, im half tempted because its alot less hassle but if the wheel fell off itll be alot of damage,

im hoping i can drill a hole into the nut and itll crack apart,

this has happened on a halfrauds mcguard locking nut, i suggest you dont buy them lol, although i think someone went trigger happy with an air gun on it, probally some tit working for kwik fit

    ep3 CTR btw.
