Ryanmt can set the miles on digital Mk2 dials to what you like. Give him a PM.

You can't (shouldn't) change the mileage reading because you have put a new engine in!

The main thing is the chassis and all the other parts that go on wear and tear due to mileage. Your only kidding yourself taking 40 thousand miles off.

You might get abit more selling it on, but all it will take is a car check and the 'buyer' will just think your trying to rip him off.

Many poeple do change the milage. Majority of the other parts are all designed to wear anyway and are replaced when theyre due, not at a certain milestone.

If the new engine has proof of milage, then document all the engine change with proof of the engines miles, so the miles of the shell are still logged for its true age. If you were to lie to another buyer about the miles then thats fraud.

Or make a note of the miles on the clocks when you put the new engine in and keep them the same.

Im not saying owt against the lad personally, im just saying in general I don't like the idea of clocking a car because your changing the engine. Its not a true reputation of the cars history. Its very rare that a saxo shell will outlive a well serviced TU engine.

As long as your honest about the mileage & have it all documented when the time comes to sell then it shouldn`t be a problem.
