I've noticed a knocking noise on my 2003 1.1 litre citroen saxo.
It only seems to happen in 1st and 2nd gear, when I;m pulling away and releasing the accelerator, there is an audible knocking noise. It just happens once then stops until I change gear again.
Its not the CV joint or a wheel bearing, I've had those problems before and this sounds different, its a one off moise and does not happen when turning corners or going over bumps that I have noticed. I thought it might be that the spare wheel was loose or something and so moving in its casing every time the car "rocks" forward and backward, but the wheel seems secure.
Any ideas what it may be? Just want to have an idea for when I book it into the garage for them to take a look.
