    Hey internet people,

did a coolant flush on a Wreg saxo vtr on thursday and used the pink coolant and ever since its been running hot... There arent any air pockets in the system as its taken over 5.7L of coolant.. ** I know it takes 6l*** and i was just wondering if running a to high concertration would make it run hot???? any help would be good...

    Warm moist thoughts Hefty...

erm check your fans kicking in at the right point, check temp sensor is alrite, check gauge isnt fault, is the engine actually running hotter than normal or just on the temp gauge?

was the mix 50/50 of antifreeze and water? as you do need water in there... as f or the air leak... i have seen it many times before where air is trapped in the heater matrix and requires the correct tools to flush it out or start again.. did the fan kick in and out 3 times? does the thermostat open at the correct temp? or is it sticking? did you replace it at all?

The stat is kicking as i can feel the pipeing comming off rapidly changing temp, it was also changed.. That fan is kicking in at roughly the same temp as before... Ill drain out a bit more coolant and add some water..

As said 50/50 mixture plus so that the coolant runs aroud the system properly flush the system out then refill & bleed.

Flushed the system again and mixed 50/50 and seems to of lowered the temp but still a little high.. Its around 60-70% all the time now...the fan is kicking in but only at about 65% on the dial... Any other suggestions.... Something like the temp sensor but it was fine before i flushed it....

I think your using the wrong anti freeze for a start mate.......saxo engines iirc should only have blue, red isnt suitable.

I used red and it seems fine. I was also told the saxo can use either.

the red is a 5 year one as opposed to the 2 year...

the blue one uses IAT tech (silicate)

the red uses OAT tech (Silicate FREE)

tbh ive never had a problem using the advanced antifreeze in a saxo/106/ax as they are both Etnylene Glycol based which makes them compatible...

As for your problem, do you get a water trickling noise when turning on the engine when its cold? as i still would imagine you have air trapped in the system, are you bleeding all 3 bleed screws? using a propper header tank on the expansion tank or using a bottle and duck tape?

also did you clean the engine and rad with a hose (removing all the brown gunk) or use a radiator flush?

    Bla Bla

You can always use both, but never mix these!

But the OEM filling (G33) is also a Silicate free even if it looks blue, it is blue-green and its spezialised blue-green mix only for PSA engines! But it is hard to get, because you can only buy it in big canisters

So aftermarket one should never be a blue or yellow one! Cause these uses Silicates!

If you buy aftermarket one take the Glysantin (G30) it replaces the (G33)

to me you have air trapped, bleed the car properly, one is at the termostat housing (just above), another one on the right top side of the radiator (careful its plastic and delicate) and the third is on the backside of the engine screw off a small cap off a plastic tube (like a tyre valve cap) this pipe is one that leads to the heater matrix inside the car! Those are the three bleeders! If you dont bleed them all your car is bound to overheat!
