lets get it straight, youve got a mk1 1.1 that you want to fit with a mk2 interior loom? (if so why) then want to fit with a mk1 vtr conversion? as that wont work.... you could get it to work.... but not off your own back....dont make life hard for yourselves

if you have a mk1 1.1, your mk1 vtr conversion should plug striaght in, dont even bother with the mk2 loom

if you have ecu, key, pick up ring from ignition and imob box, you should be ok, but without the loom that matches that set up you MAY still have issues, as some do for unknown reasons.... unless you get the ecu un locked- in which case all you need is ecu

Just double check the upper drivers side engine mount of your friends 1.1.

I can't remember if it's the same or not as a Vtr.

Post up a picture if you want us to confirm

surely he should just buy a mk1 interior loom then to replace the one hes got?

as already stated the mk1 vtr engine will go straight in no problems, the only thing that could be an issue is the engine mount, most people cut out the 1.1 cradle and weld in the vtr one, only user name that comes to mind is willsy that has done this, or you can use the 1.1 mount on the vtr engine, my mate had a 16v engine in his s1 106 on his standard 1.1 mount then you wouldnt need to weld in the vtr cradle for the vtr mount BUT this is down to weather he wants to risk it
