How Can I Make My 1.1 Sound More Grunty ?

   Yeaah Yeahhh I Know How Bad This Sounds And There Not Alot You Can Do With A 1.1 Performance Wise, But I Cant Afford A VTR or VTS At The Moment Due To Other Interests But Is There Anyway I Can Make My 1.1 Sound A Bit More Gruntyy ? Kinda Bored Of How Mine Sounds lol

   An air filter and an exhaust, but on a 1.1 this would look quite like a boy racers car. How long did it take you to write each word with a capital letter at the start?

   Buy my Induction sounds mega grunty makes a nice note. and i have a magnex exhaust on with it there meant to be on the quiet side... well not with the induction its not. hence the reason im selling it

   Haha I Have Been Thinking Of Getting An Induction Kit For A While But Thatt Was Going To Be My Next Question, But You Have Already Covered That, Ill Look In At It In a Min =]

   Haha yep covered it get an induction and and exhaust and will sound alot better

   Realistically you want an enclosed induction kit, looking at about £150 new for a decent one
   You can get a cheap open filter which will probably achive the grunt you are looking for but you will probably end up with a slight power reduction due to the fact they usually suck hot air into the inlet from the engine bay
   
   A full exhaust system with or without decat will set you back about £200 plus fitting
   Could source a 2nd hand one off here or ebay though and it would be cheaper

    my 1.1 is the spi model its the older i have a k&n and a cat back powerflow system, i think it sounds nice, loud but nice deffo has that grunt you want,
    
    and it dont matter if you modding a 1.1, if you cant afford a vt then you cant afford it,
    bottom line
    make the best out of what you have got mate

    Yeahhh i think if I don't get the all clear from having a year our from mx and doug something different anyway so may have the funds to get a vt

    at the end of the day my car is not my only interest so I'm making do with my 1.1 (y)

    Exhaust and filter be quite coked up by then though so performance increases wont be as good as buying fresh parts.
    
    Both will still look and sound good on the car though if you keep em clean

    save your money and buy a vtr or preferably an s, there is really is no point in doin up a 1.1, .. i cant talk tbh... been there, done that, grown up (abit) lol .. its your choice tho if u got other interests then dont waste ur dosh on a 1.1 saxo !!!

    if i were you mate, buy a vts engine, enclosed induction kit, 4branch manifold straight through exhuast. and dont change the look of the car at all, no vtr body kits or nice wheels, and when your at the lights next to some lil boy racer in his 1.4 or 1.2 like my area, start wavin good bye ;d

    i had a omp cherry bomb exhaust on mine sounded really good now got a stainless steel back box with all the insides taken out not too loud gives the odd pop and raspy

    A quick and easy(not everyone will agree lol)way of making your 1.1 grunt is to take the resonator off the air pipe and put a k+n filter in your airbox.Some people drill holes in the airbox.

    k+n filters don't need cleaning till something like 50,000 miles and stainless exhausts usually produce more power once coked up?

    well i just brought a k'n'N 57i air filter and my mates say they can always hear me comin. i think it was well worth buyin it.
