#2There is nothing in legislation that prevents you having neons on your car as long as you do not do either of the following:
- Display a red light to the front. (This is why you often see HGVs with all sorts of lights on the front but never red ones).
- Display any colour light other than red to the rear. (Obviously exceptions are made for reversing and indicating but not for neons).
The only other complication could come if you use blue lights as it could be perceived as impersonating an emergency vehicle.
As long as the bulbs (or strip lights) cannot be seen then you are fine. This includes being able to see them through gaps in bodywork such as grilles etc. so make sure they're well hidden. You should only be able to see the glow from the bulbs not the bulbs themselves.
also depends a lot on attitudes of your local police, some are stricter than others so to be on the safe side only have them on when parked up in a car park or local meet etc2 users thanked this post: , -
#3IIRC all under car neons are illegal if they are being used whilst on the road, they're OK to use if your at a meet or off of the road, but police will get aggy if you use them whilst moving, as it can distract other drivers and possibly dazzle.
You might get some grief off of some if not most members on here for mentioning neons aswell lol -
#4iirc neons are gay?
-
#6well police r cunts. they r reallllly strict around here
back a few years ago there was a big thing with neons, loads of people had them
dont see any1 around anymore.. perhaps the odd hardcore chav with his corsa but other than that just the usual LED side lights or w/e. -

#12There are so many laws governing this it does get a bit complicated but the basics are this.
If used on the road you would have to be able to prove they are not distracting to other road users and they would have to be MOT compliant.
If there being used for off road use only ( public access car parks are classed as on road ) and your lights are any colour other then blue and you have nothing to worry about.
If there being used off road only and are blue then ideally you would want a way to render them unusable whilst on the road. -
#13just dont get them
-
#14they come with an on / off switch. just make sure its off if your likely to get a wrist slapping from the coppers
-
#16I got red ones and the bulbs can't be seen so should be ok
-
#17Just the law tryin to piss people off cuz wot harm is havin neon as long as the strips are not showing as they would blind other road usersd but the glow ante gunna and as for blue inpersonating emergency services. I'm yet to see a police car with blue neons under there car so who would go o look that saxo must b police

#27Slightly off topic, I was having a good old rant earlier to my mates about cars. I was showing them top show cars that have had thousands and thousands spent on them, but because they have a body kit and a spoiler, no one wants to know :/Quote:hahhahahah sounds so stupid when u think about it lol
ps get neons their awsome FACT, and can looked nice along side more modern mods
I say bring back individuality. -
