I have just bought a 2000 vtr and am looking to buy an induction kit, want an enclosed one but a bit skint at the mo due to hols. Is there really much difference between the open & the enclosed?

    Prices Found:
Brand new open pipercross induction kit: £75 (Ebay)
Brand new bmc enclosed induction kit: £185 (Demontweeks)

Is there really over £100's difference between the two?

open filters suck in hot air and therefor lose power, enclosed filters work exactly the same as the standard airbox ie the filter is shielded away from heat. the only differences between enclosed filters and a standard airbox are that the enclosed filters have a better cold air feed and are slightly louder. imo save your money and fit a decent cold air feed to the standard airbox plus a panel filter.

Sounds good aswell, but will it still sound meaty?
  11. #11
not really. if you want noise then fit an open filter, the enclosed filters sound a bit louder but not as loud as the open ones.

i had a bmc cda and no noise came off it at all

Hi try this mate its very similar to pipercross viper kit and bmc but at a fraction of the price www.raidhp.com its the carbon fibre maxflow kit you want its universal but has the correct fitments when it arrives, enclosed carbon too wich for the price of these is a bargain.
