oil leakage

   iv noticed in last couple of weeks im getting patches of oil where my car sits overnight.
   i had a quick look to see where its coming from but the bottom half of my engine is caked in the stuff so i have no idea tbh.
   seems most of it is coming from behind the cambelt cover, where would it leak from behind there?

   oil pump prehaps? or big end seal?

   are these behind the cambelt cover?

   how big of a job is it to fit an oil pump and big end seal?

   i really dont know mate both are driven by your cambelt and are at the bottom. i think your engine might have to come out to get at them. big end seal is around the crankshaft if u didnt already know. it could even be that oil port in the head gasket. if you have a look at one there is a hole that has a metal thing around it and a rubber seal. that failed on me but leaked into the coolant instead of out. its right at the corner of the block closest the drivers headlight.
   
   please dont go spending money on all these as they are just suggestions of what it could be. im sure others have more ideas of what it could be. just make sure you keep an eye on your oil level until you get it sorted

   im not spending money on it yet. just wanted to know how big a job it is really, as long as it doesnt get worse.

   i think , just to be sure, i might get my can of degreaser out and start scrubbing the engine lol
