bhp figures

Hello i recently bought a saxo vts and was curious on bhp figures.

Totaly standard when i bought it. ( Very suprised how fast it was)

Since then i have done the following.

    Open cone air filter
Supersprint full race system from the manifold
    Re-mapped

    Has made a huge difference.
Any idea roughly what it will be kicking out?

Also will a closed induction and a aftermarket manifold make much difference?

Bhp Figures if this was done?

    Car is a 2002 model

    thanks

Where did you have it remapped and how did they remap it? how much did the remap cost you?

It was done by a local garage. Special offer of £250.

Apparently gains of 20hp at least.

Cant say if thats true but what a difference it made.

Was done through the eobd port by lap top.

Copied my ecu data sent away and came back with a custom remap. The best he could do (phoned the company to ask). Knew the owner quite well

The gain from the remap will not be anywhere near 20bhp with those modifications.

Correct me if im wrong but chip wizards are one of the only place able to remap a triple plug ECU.

Also the map you have is generic as it isnt custom to your car.

To be quite honest you have been conned out of £250.

An enclosed green filter will give more gains and also a 4,2,1 manifold.

20bhp? more like 2 if the car is not been heavily modified

i had a fully mappable ecu put on my car when it was n/a and had it all mapped. I didn't get anywhere even close to a 20bhp gain, in fact I think it was literally a few bhp i gained so I'd say it's a safe to say you've been fed a load of bullsh*t

with what you have, I'd say expect anywhere between 120bhp and 130bhp.

when i asked about mapping my standard xr2i i was told it would be a 8bhp gain, and that would be a custom map not a generic map which you have

also standard air boxes are better than open cone filters, the superprint is a good buy and yes get a manifold, the manifold is the most restrictive part of the exhaust system especially on your model as the cat is in the manifold, id say if the car was still producing 120 bhp standard you'd be around 130 bhp now

there is a lot of false information when it comes to mapping a car imo. N/A cars with very few mods on a standard inlet see basically bugger all from a remap, and can lose from a 'chip'. Yes you will gain on high levels of n/a tuning (cams, ITB's etc) but more often than not people with that level of tuning have a mappable ecu anyway.

Boosted cars benefit highly from 'chips' and remaps a lot more because of the simple fact you just turn the boost up and dump more fuel in with it.

Aww well not to worry but i can deffinatly say it has made a big difference.

There is certain roads where you know what your speedo shows and its deffinatly more with the remap.

Maybe a small gain bhp wise but deffinatly revs much more freely and seems to have alot more power.

Many poeple say this with eBay chips, unfortunatly its just in your mind expecting a gain afterwards and believing there is.

Make a video if you beat this, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6y1zebGeGXU

    in acceleration, I'll believe you!

Engine is stock, also the stock map on the 3-plug!

I don't think chip wizards exists anymore, iv heard of 3 plugs being remapped elsewhere tho (i hope anyway, mines a 3)
