mk1 vts fanbelt change?

   my fan belt is shredding itself slowly, iv bought a new one but how do you loosen the alternator? i cant see how.
   i thought alternators have that threaded bar type thing which goes into a bracket to loosen, but i dont have one.

   Are you saying you`ve got no long threaded bolt with a 10mm head to adjust the tension?If so get a pic up mate.

   Sounds like you need a haynes manual if you need help changing a fan belt, or someones bodged up your alternator bracket royally!

   my mk1 vts has the threaded bar thing to adjust the auxillary belt, doesnt have a fan belt though ...

   Saxo does not have a fanblet. Although to change alternator belt under car for a vts this is theres a 4mm hex bolt you wind in and you have to loosen two 13mm bolts on the bracker this is attatched to its hard to explain but basically this will allow you to adjust the tensioner so you can remove the belt
