New gearbox

ive heard a couple of people on hear talking about gettin vts or 1.1 gear boxes. jus want to know how much difference one of these boxes will make on a 2001 vtr

ok i think in right in thinking a 1.1 gear box will get you to 6 alot quicker but will slow you down near the top end, im sure someone will say if im wrong

Very true !!!!

But a 2nd hand 1.1 box will be cheaper and in better condition than a VTS box and their is loads about.

DAZ how much did u pay for yours if you dont mind me asking? also do they affect the top speed or just the performace above 60

yep the 1.1 'box improves acceleration but you lose top speed, but no-one drives around at 100mph+ anyway

Cost me next to nothing Friend of a friend

You can get them for about 140 tops shop around breakers yards theirs always one knocking about.

As sean said quciker to 60 slower top end.

Great for traffic light races always pisses people off !!!!

i got a 2nd hand 1.1 box for £120 from a breakers a few months ago so they should be going for around that price i'd say

if you come across a 106 rallye box grab it, its a better option but they are rare!
