#2no you dont "run it in" it will get louder (but not much) the longer you have it though
-
#3If its a loud exhaust your after you've purchased the wrong one. Magnex are quality exhausts and give a very subtle burble rather than a loud noise.
If you want more sound then you might want to de-cat the system. This will give it a nice raspy sound. If thats your thing !!! -
#4how much bother is it replace the cat when its mot time with the 98bhp vtr? are they illegal?
-
#5i think the cat is in the manafold on the vtrs mind
-
#6mangex are quality exhausts mate, but are not loud at all! they give a nice little rumble but thats about the most you can get from it if its just a backbox!
i have the same one on mine, i de-catted it about 2 months ago now, and it did made an imporvement, both on sound and preformance!
has your car got the cat in the manifold or under the car? mines a mk2 with it under the car so it was nice and easy to replace :Y: -
#7They are rite i was quite dissapointed with the sound on my old magnex on the VTS but then i liked noisy exhausts at the time. The best exhaust for sound IMO is Sportex. Many will agree as they gargle and backfire!

#8New manifold de-cats the 98bhp VTR.Quote:Originally Posted by waldohow much bother is it replace the cat when its mot time with the 98bhp vtr? are they illegal?
Im replacing my CAT with one underneath for the MOT as i brought an exhaust off a VTS so needed a mk1 De-cat pipe to jion the gap.
So MOT time just replace the 2foot section on exhaust instead of manifold
EDIT - Yes it illegal to not have a CAT on your car !!!! Thats why cars fail an MOT without one on !!!! -
#9Aye magnex exhausts are not very loud. They provide a nice rumble.
When i had mine it wasnt installed too well and was blowing like a bitch, sounded good tho! lol
