NO heater - Battery light on

    Morning all,
    Started up my 1.0 First this morning and the heater wasn't working. Battery charge light is showing in the display at all times.

    ALso when turning lights on and off, the dials freeze and then reset and the windscreen wipers are going slowly.

    Stereo, lights, indicators work fine.

    Is it my earth strap or a new battery?

    Could be battery or alternator , If you had power steering and that wasn't working then it would definatly be alternator but you don't have power steering lol

    Sounds like it’s time to get the multi-meter out and start checking.

    Check your getting the right voltage from your battery (14ish iirc)

    And then check the voltage at your alternator.

    Takes 5 mins and rules your battery/alternator out of the equation.

    Have you had your battery checked?!
    I would say it would be a new battery as mine had symptoms like that.
    Think I got a battery for £30 from my local motor factors

    If you can get the car started then take it for a free battery/alternator check at Halfords.

    Problem fixed, alternator belt had gone walkies.
    Fitted a new one meself.
